What Is Nikmal?

          Nikmal began in 2023, but the idea of Nikmal, was birthed much earlier. As a kid I always had an affinity for dressing well and fashion as a whole. I never wore anything absolutely outstanding, but I have always been particular and planned with the way I dress.

          Originally, my brand was named M-Illitant, combining the first letter of my name, Maxwell, with the idea of spiritual warfare. I soon found that that name was already in use by another clothing brand. Back to the drawing board. I wanted to represent myself in my brand. One day it struck me, my last name backwards. For whatever reason, Nikmal, just sounded right. It doesn't necessarily roll off the tongue smoothly, but it stands out and has definition. 

          The year 2023 didn't amount to anything. I was gripped by fear of failure and lack of true focus. At the beginning of 2024, I had a softball sized tumor in my stomach removed, and the cancer then spread to my liver and lungs. I underwent intense chemotherapy for 4 months and by the grace of God, through trial and tribulation, I was delivered and declared cancer free in June. 

          Through this, I was renewed and had the courage to pursue my dream and make use of the gifts afforded to me by God. I put my pain, my experiences, my love, into Nikmal. All of my designs are hand drawn and most of them are Biblically inspired. I pray to make impact and reveal the glory of God to others through my works.
